24.10.2011 The preparation of Synergy's RC44 yacht is still under way as the team is set to participate in the World Championship. The crew painted bulb, it became yellow.
Synergy's team is preparing the yacht in Valencia and making it ready for the road to Lanzarote, where the RC44 World Championship will be held from 16 to 20 November. The yacht is set to leave Valencia on October 27.
Five regattas has been completed in the RC44 Championship Tour-2011 - in San Diego, Gmunden, Cagliari, Marstrand and Rovinj.
20.10.2011 New venues are possible for Audi MedCup. Synergy races in TP52 class of the series.
Nacho Postigo, the technical director of the series, says it's possible that the schedule for 2012 season will face some changes.
"We are discussing the schedule for 2012 season. Probably, we'll have some new venues and regattas next year. Countries of Northern Europe, Sweden and Germany in particular, are keen to stage an event. Still we are going to start the season at the Atlantic and stage at least two regattas in the Med".
Synergy won 4 races and had 14 podium finishes in 2011 Audi MedCup.
14.10.2011 Synergy begin preparation for RC44 World Championship that will be held in November.
The Russian team prepares the RC yacht for the upcoming regatta at the base in Valencia. At the moment the crew paints the hull.
The RC44 World Championship is set to be staged from 16 to 20 November at Lanzarote, Canary Islands. This regatta is the sixth and ultimate event of the RC44 Championship Tour-2011.
Synergy won 10 match races and finished at the podium in 4 fleet races during this season in the tour.
09.10.2011 Quantum Racing won the TP52 World Championship for second time in a row. The American team is the defending Audi MedCup champion as well.
TP52 World Championship was held in Porto Cervo form 4 to 8 October. After first four races Quantum Racing, Gladiator and Paramount Murcia had an even score, but in the last three Quantum made a push to overtake the opponents. The Americans scored second place in the opening race on Saturday and then won the ultimate flight to capture the gold medal. Container is second, and Gladiator is third overall.
Quantum Racing became the TP52 world champion for the second time in a row and for third time in four years.
06.10.2011 Quantum Racing, Gladiator и Paramount Murcia top the standings after 3 days of the TP52 World Championship.
The regatta is being staged in Porto Cervo. And only four races have been held in 3 days due to lack of the wind. Quantum Racing, the defending Audi MedCup champion, won two of them (first and fourth), while Gladiator and Paramount Murcia won one each.
Two days to go at the TP52 World Championship, Quantum Racing, Gladiator and Paramount Murcia have 10 points each and top the standings. The forecast for Friday says there will be Mistral in Porto Cervo, so the wind will blow up to 25-30 knots. Then it will get a bit lighter, down to 15 knots on Saturday.
04.10.2011 TP52 World Championship begins in Porto Cervo today. Seven team will compete for the title.
Official practice race was staged on Monday, the defending world champion Quantum Racing won it by 20 seconds. Ran came in second, Gladiator crossed the finish line at third position.
TP52 World Championship lasts from 4 to 8 October. 7-8 fleet races and one long-distance coastal race are scheduled.
02.10.2011 Team Aqua won the Adris RC44 Cup in fleet racing, Artemis came in second, RC44 Team Ceeref is third.
The fifth regatta of the RC44 Championship Tour-2011 is over, last two fleet races were held in Rovinj today. Five teams contested for top-3 places. Team Aqua captured the title winning by a large margin, but fight for second and third places was very close.
The Swedish Artemis won race number 12 and came in second in 13th to reach second place, despite being 5th yesterday. RC44 Team Ceeref finished third and held Aleph at fourth. Synergy crossed the finish line in top-10 in the ultimate race of the regatta. The Russian crew won two flight in match racing.
02.10.2011 Last two fleet races to be held today in Rovinj to conclude the Adris RC44 Cup.
Sunday is the ultimate day of the fifth event of the RC44 Championship Tour-2011. Team Aqua leads the standings after 11 fleet races, that were staged in three days. The British crew is 16 points ahead of the closest rival. Four teams contend for the podium, the margin between second place holder RC44 Team Ceeref and Artemis, which is fifth, is only 5 points.
The forecast for October 2 is following: the air temperature in Rovinj will reach 29 degrees and the wind is set to be 8-10 knots. The action starts at midday (2 p.m. Moscow time).
01.10.2011 Team Aqua extended the lead at the Adris RC44 Cup after three fleet races on Saturday.
The British crew won the opening race of the day and extended its winning series to three in a row, and came in third in second and third respectively to increase the overall lead. There is 16-point margin between Team Aqua and RC44 Team Ceeref, which is second. The French team Aleph captured two victories on Saturday and made a huge leap in the standings from sixth to third position.
Synergy Russian Sailing Team came in 8th in the very last race of the day and made another top-10 finish. The Adris RC44 Cup will come to an end tomorrow, three more fleet races are planned. 11 fleet races have been held in three days, and that's already the highest number for the last four event of the RC44 Championship Tour-2011.
