17.09.2011 Synergy came in third in the ultimate race of the Audi MedCup-2011. Ran won the Conde de Godo Barcelona Trophy regatta.
2011 Audi MedCup season is over. The last two races were held on Saturday, they were numbers 8 and 9 of the event in Barcelona. Quantum Racing captured the victory in the first one, and Audi Azzurra won the second. The Swedish team Ran was crowned as the champion of the ultimate regatta in TP52 class.
Quantum Racing officialy became unbeatable by winning the opening race of the day. The Americans overtook the fleet by more than a minute. Audi Azzurra was the fastest team in second race, and Synergy fought against Audi All4One for second place, but lost 7 seconds, nevertheless the Russian crew scored its 14th podium finish of the season in Audi MedCup.
17.09.2011 Quantum Racing leads TP52 series' standings: Bribon is 14 points away with 2 more races are scheduled for the ultimade day.
The last two races of the Conde de Godo Barcelona Trophy and of the Audi MedCup-2011 Circuit are set to be staged on Saturday. Ran and Bribon lead the TP52 class in Barcelona, while Quantum Racing is 4 points behind them.
Synergy, which made 13th top-3 finish in the series this season yesterday, contends for 4th place at the ultimate event. Before Satursday's action the Russian crew has equal points with Container and trails only one to Audi All4One.
16.09.2011 13th podium finish in Audi MedCup-2011 for Synergy came in the first race of Friday. In the second one the Russians were fourth.
Two races were held in TP52 class on the penultimate day of the last Audi MedCup-2011's regatta. Quantum Racing, Container and Synergy fought for the victory in the first one. The Russian crew rounded every mark on third place and stayed at this position till the finish line. Quantum Racing won the race and beat Container by 3 seconds, Synergy came in third and lost just 16 seconds. That's the Russian team's 13 th podium finish this year in the series.
Second race was interesting as well. Ran was leading all the way and captured the victory, its third in Barcelona. Quantum Racing was second, and Container came in third. Synergy lost just 5 seconds to the Germans, but beat Audi Azzurra and Bribon by 3 and 4 seconds respectively to finish fourth.
16.09.2011 The TP52 coastal race of the Conde de Godo Barcelona Trophy, that was planned for Friday, is substituted by two fleet races.
Light and unstable winds led to cancellation of the second race of Thursday. So the organizers of the Audi MedCup have decided to change the schedule and to give the teams a chance to participate in as much standart windward-leeward races as possible, and they've cancelled the coastal.
Synergy trails six points to Container, which is third in the Conde de Godo Barcelona Trophy's TP52 standings, with four races to go. In TP52 overall rankings Quantum Racing has a 7-point advantage on Bribon.
15.09.2011 Only one TP52 race were held at Audi MedCup's regatta in Barcelona. Synergy came in fourth.
The start was delayed because of unstable wind conditions, and the second race was cancelled due to lack of wind. In race number 5 Synergy was 7th in the beginning, but managed to climb back.
The Russian crew overtook the leader of the series and the defending world champion Quantum Racing, one of the top contenders Audi Azzurra and Ran, which is fighting with Bribon for the title in Barcelona. Synergy crossed the finish line at fourth place to move up to 5th in TP52 standings at Conde de Godo Barcelona Trophy.
15.09.2011 Five more races are going to be staged to complete Audi MedCup's 2011 season.
Two races are set to be hold in TP52 class at the Conde de Godo Barcelona Trophy regatta. Synergy came in third in second race of the day on Wednesday, and that's 12th podium finish for the Russian team this season. Synergy also won four races in 2011.
The action will start at 1 p.m. on September 15. The forecast says the winds wil be lighter that in previous day, but still the speed will probably reach 12-14 knots. Audi MedCup's season closes on Saturday.
14.09.2011 Synergy finished third in the fourth race of the Conde de Godo Barcelona Trophy regatta. This is the Russian team's 12th podium finish in Audi MedCup-2011.
Races number 3 and 4 were staged at the Audi MedCup-2011's fifth event in Barcelona. Ran won the first race of Wednesday. That's second win in a row for the Swedish crew. Quantum Racing and Bribon formed top-3.
Second race of the day was very close. Synergy was in the middle of the fleet on the first two marks, but then made a big push because of good tactics and nice teamwork. The Russian crew managed to hold this position until the end of the race. Synergy trails 3 points to Container, which is 4th in TP52 class standings.
14.09.2011 The Audi MedCup's regatta continues in Barcelona. Another races are scheduled for Wednesday in TP52 class.
The regatta was opened yesterday, as TP52 fleet has staged two races. Cartagena's champion Bribon won the first one, and Ran captured the victory in second. Synergy had technical problems in the race number 1, but recovered to came in fourth in second.
Third TP52 race of the Conde de Godo Barceloona Trophy regatta will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The forecast for the wind is positive: more than 13 knots expected by the start of the action.
