03.02.2012 Synergy Russian Sailing Team signed partnership agreement with Heesen Yachts, world leader in design, engineering and construction of luxury superyachts.

Heesen Yachts will be the main sponsor for Synergy in the RC44 Championship Tour-2012. The Dutch company's logo will appear on the Russian team's RC44 yacht, on her sails and hull.

Fabio Ermetto, Sales and Marketing Director at Heesen Yachts, comments: “Speed is part of the Heesen DNA and the RC44 is most likely one of the fastest racing yachts on the water. On behalf of all of us at Heesen Yachts I would like to wish buon vento to the Synergy team and I hope to be able to celebrate with them some great victory in this exciting 2012 circuit!”

01.02.2012 The very first regatta of the RC44 Championship Tour-2012 commences in a week.

RC44 Puerto Calero Cup regatta opens up new season of the series. The event is planned for 8-12 February in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote. Synergy staged two training camps in the marina and continues to prepare the yacht to the competition.

Said Synergy's boat-captain Egor Larionov: "We made over the container: now there is improved sails storage, vast and comfortable working zone and special cases for tools and spares. We polished the hull of the yacht using special polish, that improved gliding in slipping mode, and pasted sponsor's logo. We plan to install bulb and rudder and get ready to test measurements. After measurements are done, we will install mast and start training".

29.01.2012 Synergy's trimmer Alexander Ekimov comments on the team's training camp, that was held on Lanzarote and came to an end on January 26.

"We had a perfect week of practice, working 5-6 hours a day, and we have done everything that was planned", says Alexander Ekimov, "The weather was nice, wind reached 6-14 knots. Our helmsmen are feeling the yacht better, they did great maneuvres, the crew worked well together and made no mistakes".

"We received new sails from Quantum for training", adds Alexander, "We are happy with designer Brett Jones' work, form and geometry of sails became better. We spent four days practicing with our new tactician Ed Baird. And we gained a lot of experience from the man who won America's Cup in 2007. Ed is a real pro, he influences team's atmosphere in a good way. And he was satistied with the way we worked at the camp. Past two training camps (December 2011 and January 2012) helped us to build the foundation for successful performance in 2012".

26.01.2012 Synergy's training camp is over, the team was practicing on Lanzarote since 20 to 26 January.

The training camp was the very first one for the Russian sailing team in new season. The yachtsmen practiced for seven days and worked on maneuvering, starts and the elements of match-racing and tested new sails. They spend five hours a day on the water.

Synergy's next training camp is scheduled for 4-7 February and it will be staged on Lanzarote as well. The opening regatta of the RC44 Championship Tour-2012 is planned for 8-12 February in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote.

22.01.2012 Synergy's yachtsmen Alexander Ekimov and Egor Larionov explain what the team is practicing during the ongoing training camp on Lanzarote.

"We continue to improve technical part of teamwork", says trimmer Alexander Ekimov, "This is a fundamental part of the season for the helmsmen and for the crew. During the first part of the camp we consolidate the achievements of previous one, that was held in December. And we work on starts. Also we have new sails that we test. Second part of the camp is devoted to speed practices, as we are going to make the most of our yacht, and match racing with Ed Baird taking the helm".
 
"We begun to remake our container, it would become even more comfortable to store sails, ropes and other stuff", comments boat captain Egor Larionov, "We installed the air-conditioner, that is capable of dry all the things inside the container. As concerns training, I must say that the weather is beautiful, everyday we experience 8-15 knots of wind. And we spend five hours a day on the water working on maneuvering, hoisting and removing the gennaker, starts. The atmosphere inside the team is positive, we enjoy working together and have good motivation. We have to find the maximum speed of the yacht, because the season is not far away from beginning. In addition we are going to practice with other teams as well just before the first RC44 regatta of the season".

22.01.2012 The TP52 class management has published the calendar for 2012 season.

TP52 class' manager Rob Weiland announced that the class will continue its development despite cancellation of Audi MedCup series. A total of seven regattas will be staged in TP52 between April and October 2012. The circuit winner will be the best-performing yacht in five qualifying events.

The calendar of TP52 regattas for 2012

18-22 April - Palma Vela, Palma de Mallorca, Spain (tune up event)
23-27 May - Trofeo Conde de Godo, Barcelona, Spain
11-17 June - Sardinia Cup, Porto Cervo, Italy
10-14 July - Royal Cup, Palma de Mallorca, Spain
16-21 July - Copa del Rey, Palma de Mallorca, Spain (doesn't count toward the trophy)
18-22 September - France Cup or One Ton Cup, France
9-13 October - Valencia Cup, Valencia, Spain

IRC 52 and Soto 40 teams are invited to join in the TP52 racing. The 2013 calendar will be announced no later than August 2012.

19.01.2012 The first training camp of the year for Synergy is set to begin tomorrow, on Lanzarote, Canary Islands.

The Russian sailing team continues to prepare for new season of the RC44 Championship Tour series. Synergy plans to consolidate the achievements, that were reached at the camp in December 2011, and to work on maneuvering and teamwork during the session, since 20 to 26 January. The crew consists of 12 yachtsmen.

Synergy's second training camp of the year is scheduled for 4-7 February. It will be just before the kick off of the RC44 Puerto Calero Cup regatta, the very first event of the RC44 Championship Tour-2012. The series includes 5 events, in Puerto Calero, Cascais, Gmunden, Marstrand and Rovinj. The ultimate regatta of the season will be named the RC44 World Championship.

The forecast for Friday, 20 January, for Lanzarote includes the wind of 15-16 knots and air temperature that will reach 22 degrees.

16.01.2012 Synergy plans to work on maneuvering skills, rounding marks and improve the overall speed of the yacht.

Synergy's yachtsmen will come to Lanzarote for the very first training camp of the year on Thursday, January 19, and they are going to get out on the water on January 20. The forecast for daytime air temperature for the last decade of January on the island is 21-22 degrees.

The crew with helmsmen Valentin Zavadnikov and Leonid Lebedev will work on improving maneuvering skills for 5 hours a day from 20 to 26 January. One of the days during the camp will be dedicated for match racing and speed practices. Synergy prepares for the first event of the RC44 Championship Tour-2012, that will be held on 8-12 February.

11.01.2012 Synergy's crew for the upcoming training camp, the first in new season, will include 12 sailors.

Synergy Russian Sailing Team prepares for the first training camp of new season, that will be staged on 20-26 January on Lanzarote island.

The crew will be consisted of 12 sailors: helmsmen and co-owners of the team Valentin Zavadnikov and Leonid Lebedev, reserve helmsman and project's manager Maxim Logutenko, coach Ed Reynolds, tactician Ed Baird, bows Konstantin Besputin and Pavel Mshensky, trimmers Alexander Ekimov, Anton Sergeev and Valery Zatsarinsky, pitman Nikolay Kornev, grinder and boat-captain Egor Larionov.

Synergy's supporting crew include three members: sailmaker Brett Jones, coach's assistant Alexei Kulakov and logistics manager Andrey Kochnev.

The opening event of the RC44 Championship Tour-2012 is set to be staged on 8-12 February in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote.

06.01.2011 Synergy's very first training camp of new season will be open up in two weeks.


The training camp is set to be staged since 20 to 26 January on Lanzarote island. The Russian team practiced maneuvering there last December, during previous camp.


Experienced coaches helped Synergy's yachtsmen, there were trimmer Brett Jones and coach Ed Reynolds of Quantum Racing.


Synergy also scheduled another training camp, on 3-7 February, just before the season's first regatta, the RC44 Puerto Calero Cup.
