27.08.2010. Synergy Russian Sailing Team haven’t got a good day at Audi MedCup’s event in Cartagena and after Friday’s action the Team holds eighth place overall in TP52 class. In the first race of the day Synergy had some technical difficulties and started at the last place. But then the crew did a good job and climbed to 7th position. Matador won this competition and moved to the first place after TeamOrigin failed to hold a lead on the last run. Then in the second race Bribon triumphed and Synergy received a penalty from race officers on the first run and was forced to round. That penalty moved the Russians back and they ended the race at the last place. British side TeamOrigin came second and re-established the lead. The very last race of Friday was really close for Synergy. The winner TeamOrigin had a big lead and the Russian team competed for position and points. Synergy did well and finished at sixth place ahead of Quantum Racing and Matador. The Russian team has 35 points and holds 8th position overall in the regatta’s standings.
